The 1901 Valley City State University suspension footbridge is one of many throughout the city. 

This city gets its nickname, "The City of Bridges," from the 11 historic bridges crossing the Sheyenne River that winds through the town and carves out a scenic river valley.

With a population of 6,500, Valley City has a hometown atmosphere with friendly communities and plenty of parks and open spaces for outdoor recreation.
